About My Packaging & Ingredients
Packaging & Shipping
In addition to being designed to have a mindful sky, cloud, and nature motif, all packaging that I use has been carefully designed to meet several real purposes:
- Cobalt Blue and Amber Brown protect from UV light - my products contain precious oils and extracts that can be degraded with exposure to UV light. These UV protecting jars and bottles serve a vital purpose!
- My rounded and cylindrical container shapes hold a larger volume with less packaging compared to square shapes, thereby minimizing waste.
- I always try to use glass or cardboard when possible. Any plastic containers I use are recyclable.
- I re-use shipping supplies as much as possible to minimize waste and environmental impact. Please forgive any scuffs, scratches or stains on the shipping packages!
Ingredients & Suppliers
I only purchase from highly reputable suppliers with sustainable and fair trade practices. I purchase certified organic carrier oils, butters, waxes, essential oils, hydrosols, and extracts whenever possible. Sometimes, though, organic is not available. In my ingredients descriptions for each product, organic items are starred (*).
For all of my products I use vegan (except if honey and/or beeswax are used), sustainable, non-GMO sources, and whenever possible they are ECOCERT/COSMOS-approved. All items followed by a "(V)" are vegan; if an item is NOT vegan, I will clearly state that fact in the listing title so you never need to guess!
I never use synthetic fragrances. Ever. Period. I only use essential oils, hydrosols and extracts which impart therapeutic benefits and natural scent, or I use no scent at all.
If I choose to use a colorant in any product that is applied to the skin, it will only be plant-based if the product is leave-on. For wash-off products or items that do not touch the skin, I may use iron oxide/mica powders (in addition to natural plant colorants) to impart colorful appeal. These are not toxic to you or the environment. All colorants will be listed in the ingredients section of the product label.
